Experience in leadership
Karl-Dieter has served on the executive board of the 2500-member Order of the Arrow chapter in Minnesota. This position involved his chairing numerous committees in the Boy Scouts as well as dealing with other responsibilities similar to those involved in being ASG’s academic vice-president. Although Karl-Dieter has never served in ASG, his other experiences have done an excellent job of preparing him for the position he seeks.
Experience in education
Perhaps you’ve learned that Karl-Dieter is a senior and you wonder exactly how he intends to serve his position next year. Actually, he’s a five-year student in a double ad hoc major in both the school of music and the math department of CAS. He’s dealt first-hand with creating his own curriculum of study, often planning courses years in advance to accomodate his specific academic needs. He’s already lobbied the administration for the permission to pursue his specialized areas of interest. You can expect the same dedication and focus in his efforts to lobby for your needs as well.
Experience in spirit
Karl-Dieter’s passion as a Wildcat is well-documented. NUMB members will certainly recognize him as the infamous “Band Geek” who has entertained millions with his particular brand of purple pride. He’s spent four years as a trumpet in the marching band, travelling to both the Rose Bowl and the Citrus Bowl. He also participates in the pep band which plays at the men’s and women's basketball games. Karl-Dieter’s love for Northwestern as an institution will easily translate to dedication and spirit in his role as Academic VP.
