remember when we used to study in the library always the same study carol, 3 rooms in to the right—5th floor africana, side by side course packets. smuggle our cans of dr. pepper, always the beverage of choice. sometimes i would lie my head down for a quick nap only to feel fingers in my hair lights flash library is closing.
head over to dunkin donuts for boston creme and shared large coffee. funny indian guy watching tv in the backroom, trading comments on paper napkins buzzed on coffee buzzed on love never had so much fun studying so much russian literature.
one a.m. step out into the cold head back to shep coffee in left hand never could finish it. right hand—two hands together in deep coat pocket linked hand in hand hip to hip sharing warmth.
