Rox Rocks ASGossip with a Clarification

Our first high-profile ASG insider has stepped up to the plate for some on-the-record conversation under her very own name. Roxanne Ong, the Student Services VP in her final days of office, has chimed in with a clarification on the proccess she undertook to bring about the student shuttle to Jewel:

I should correct Mr Plaid on the shuttle thing. While the idea has been kicked around, it has never been ADVOCATED to the administration. It took:

1. a well-written recommendation report
2. lobbying at the board of trustees and at Dr Barr’s office
3. Good timing (the contract of the shuttle buses was going through renewal again)
4. And Dr Barr’s listening ears!

I’m not trying to say I should be given credit for the shuttle, but I echo Mr Black’s views and beseech Mr Plaid to realize that ideas blooming don’t mean the result of a nice juicy apple to eat in 5 years. It takes hard work, and do give ASG’s powers (whatever that is: power to talk to the administration and have a better chance of getting listened to) a little bit more credit.
