Election: REDO!

As usual with all that regards our Associated Student Government, yesterday’s elections have been plunged into an abyss of confusion and (you guessed it) politics. Check out the Daily online for the full, detailed, and well-reported story. Here at ASGossip, our first inkling was this brief word from Mr. Grey about what went down:
The election has been nullified by the ASG judges—tentatively rescheduled for next Tuesday, with no non-verbal campaigning in the interim. Senate will weigh in tomorrow night.
What exactly went down in the dirty virtual back alleyways of Vogelback and the library? Again, check The Daily, but here’s an early report, from Mr. Green:
…some guy figured out how to vote a fuckload of times. it screwed up the results. the people running things aren’t sure what to do. elections will probably be held again next week, and the kid will probably be punished by Papa Northwestern for his naughty deeds.
For a word on what we can expect from the ASG Senate tomorrow, we turn to Mr. Mauve:
I have heard a rumor that a number of characters closely associated with ASG intend to overturn the Election Judicial Committee’s decision to annul today’s elections at tomorrow’s ASG meeting. This actions is intended to rescue what little credibility ASG will have left after this debacle.
So, the voting’s being tossed by the judges, but as we all remember from the Bass flap last week, Senate has no qualms with flexing its muscles and overturning the ruling of the judges. This means we can expect to see another BIG SHOW at Norris tomorrow night, as the candidates grapple and jockey for the elections to either be upheld or dismissed. And don’t get us started on the wrangling that will take place within Senate, as its members line up behind their favorite candidate and stand firm.
STAY WITH ASGossip throughout “NU Held Hostage: The ASG Election”, as we bring you the latest news and analysis up until the victory parties (whether they be Thursday night, next Tuesday night, or next frickin’ year). More on this breaking nonsense as it develops…
