Moore Corrects Write-In

Student Services VP candidate Jenny Moore responds to allegations posted on the web site of write-in candidate Levi Wolfe.

I am Ginger Harreld, the campaign manager for Jenny Moore, and I would like to correct the assumptions of certain “write-in” candidates in the Student Services Vice Presidential election. First of all, Jenny does not only have a well-researched and realistic platform, she has also demonstrated her work ethic and seriousness about ASG these past two years as a Senator and an active member of the Student Services Committee.

Now, I will clear up this unfortunate confusion about her platform. Dr. Peggy Barr explained to Jenny that space exists in Norris for mail/copy center. Currently, a student can buy stamps and weigh packages at Norris, but Jenny envisions a center where students can have mail packaged and weighed for them, like at a Mailboxes, etc., which would save students a trip to Evanston. Furthermore, a copy center in Norris remains a desperate need which Jenny will meet.

The money to improve Blomquist comes from a designated athletics budget controlled by Dan Bolfin. Many students wait for up to thirty minutes to ride machines. Jenny wants more weights and machines to save students time and energy. She has spoken with Dan Bolfin who says he will happily meet the students’ needs.

An overpriced On-line book exchange now exists, but it is being sold. Jenny wants to create an On-line book exchange controlled by and linked to ASG in order to provide a fair market in which students exchange books.

Jenny researched and wrote the legislation for the O’Hare Airport Shuttle which she will implement this spring. Jenny is a thoughtful and articulate person who is committed to her platform, as ASGossip, AAAB, and Casa Hispana have all noticed. Student Services VP would be a final position for Jenny on ASG; as a Medill student, she is teaching newspaper next Spring. Jenny welcomes fair competition who is able to make educated accusations against her. Her informed, realistic campaign illustrates her representation of all NU students, her proactivity, and her desire to improve Northwestern. I am embarrassed for candidates who spout ignorant accusations and uneducated platforms. FYI, the Student Services Committee successfully lobbied Dr. Barr to provide soap in all dorm bathrooms by this coming fall. Soap get in your eye?

I urge students to vote for a committed, educated, and active candidate: Jenny Moore.
